I am so grateful for the support i have raised just over 500 euro. I am blown away. and I am now going to receive a Gold medal to commemorate my walk for autism thanks to you all x ❤️

A new era in my life

All my life I have felt different. I have struggled to feel like fit in and understand the world. I've had a fascination with people and how they function and navigate life but I felt like more of an observer on the outskirts of society rather than an actual participant. To the outside world it wasn't obvious that I felt different because I so desperately wanted to be part of it all and ensure no one ever felt the hardship like me so I put on a brave face. a mask every day, found ways to appear to fit in. I was still me but not truly me. not truly freely me. about 10 years ago I began to really question who I was and especially when my children came along and I saw their struggles too and I could see myself in them. I needed to be better for them as I have been really struggling in motherhood. Recently at 37 is when I finally took the steps towards assesment and found out I am indeed Autistic and ADHD (AuDHD is a fun way to describe it) I fit into both categories but I experience both diagnoses slightly differently when combined. It made complete sense to me. As I am I  the very early stages of being diagnosed I havnt much to say on my feelings yet other than complete relief to know that I was enough all along through the low self esteem and doubt in myself. I had genuine reasons for my struggles out of my control so I am relieved. I will grieve the life I could have had but I will continue to move forward and find my superpowers in my diagnoses to be a truer me and maybe help others along the way too. It is an honor to be able to do this walk for myself so soon after finding my answers and also for those late diagnosed, often misunderstood women who have fallen through the cracks of society. I walk for you too. Love you all. Genny.
