Walk for Autism Terms & Conditions
Walk for Autism
Terms & Conditions of Participation
Walk for Autism includes not only the Walk for Autism Challenge event, but all other activities relating to Walk for Autism, whether occurring before, during or after the event, and whether organised by Autism Initiatives or any other party, including myself.
I understand that Walk for Autism is not a group event, it is an individual challenge and can be undertaken as such. If deciding to walk with any other person(s) will take responsibility for my own and others safety.
I understand that participants under the age of 18 are required to have a parent or guardian read and accept these terms and conditions of entry on their behalf.
Autism Initiatives reserves the right, in its absolute discretion, to refuse your registration in Walk for Autism or to disqualify you from Walk for Autism for breach of these terms and conditions or for any other reason Autism Initiatives determines appropriate.
Physical Risk Notice
I understand that Walk for Autism is a recreational activity that involves physical exertion and may involve activity in bad weather, high temperatures and upon uneven terrain. The risks of participation in Walk for Autism are increased if I choose to participate in costume, in novelty shoes, using props, running or if I have, or did have, certain medical conditions.
I acknowledge that the above is not an exhaustive list of all risks inherent in my participation in Walk for Autism. I further acknowledge that there may be risks that are not known or reasonably foreseeable at this time.
I acknowledge that Autism Initiatives has not undertaken an assessment of my ability to participate but that Autism Initiatives recommends that I consult a doctor before participating in Walk for Autism if I have any condition that may make it dangerous for me to participate in Walk for Autism.
I acknowledge that during Walk for Autism responsibility for both my person and my property shall be my own.
I agree that by participating in Walk for Autism, I am aware of the risks involved and I voluntarily assume those risks.
If Autism Initiatives becomes aware that I am undertaking particularly risky or dangerous activity as part of Walk for Autism it may request that I refrain from that activity and I agree that I will comply with that request or have my entry into Walk for Autism cancelled.
Waiver and Indemnity
I will indemnify and hold harmless Autism Initiatives and all Walk for Autism sponsors, as well as their directors, officers, employees, volunteers, agents and representatives from any and all loss, damage, cost or expense in connection with any loss or injury.
Photographs
I acknowledge that in the course of Walk for Autism, photographs, images or film may be taken of groups of participants. These images may be used in reports of the Walk for Autism events by Autism Initiatives in a variety of media and for future fundraising purposes. If I do not wish direct images to be taken of me on my own, or if I do not wish my name to be attached to any image, I understand that I can make this known to the person proposing to take the image at the time.
I confirm that I am the creator and the copyright owner of any images I share, post or upload to the Walk for Autism website, or tag to Autism Initiatives or Walk for Autism on social media, and that I have the consent of all persons who are captured and identifiable in the images I provide, including parental consent if the subject is under the age of 18.
