Running for Arthur: My 40km Journey for Autism Awareness

As I near the finish line of my 40km running challenge, I’m filled with gratitude, pride, and deep emotion. This run has never been just about distance—it’s been about representation, awareness, and most importantly, love.

I’ve taken on this challenge to honour my incredible son, Arthur, who lives with autism. Every step I’ve run has been a tribute to his strength, his uniqueness, and the joy he brings to our lives. Arthur inspires me daily, and this run is my way of showing the world just how powerful love and understanding can be.

I’m thrilled to say I’m almost at my target of 40km, and I couldn’t have done it without the amazing support I’ve received. To every single sponsor—thank you. Your generosity and encouragement have meant the world to me and to our cause.

But above all, I want to thank my family. Your unwavering support, your cheers, your patience, and your belief in me have carried me through the toughest kilometres. You’ve been my strength when my legs were tired and my motivation when the finish line felt far away.

This run may be coming to an end, but the journey of raising awareness and advocating for autism continues. For Arthur, and for every child like him, I’ll keep running, speaking, and standing proud.

Run for Autism is a fundraising challenge run by Autism Initiatives Group. Autism Initiatives Group is working towards a world where every autistic person has the support they need to thrive, every opportunity to fulfil their potential and a supportive, inclusive community to live in.
