Day two done
Two days in and thank you all for your support 💙💙We're walking for....Toby and Rory
We noticed things were ‘different’ with Rory when he was around 18 months old. He didn’t like to interact with other children, said his first word when he was 3 and likes to spin, jump and run away! After 3 years of fighting, he got his diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder at age 4, a few months before starting school. He is a happy and funny little boy and likes to tell everyone about his special interests - numbers, letters and planets - of which he knows more than we do!
Toby masks his autism so it was harder to see unlike Rory, Toby loves playing with his friends and will give kisses and cuddles to everyone he meets. He struggles with loud noises and the feeling of wearing clothes (so is usually naked at home!). His infant school have been very helpful and he got his diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder in November, a few weeks before he turned 6. He loves to move and enjoys sport and dance.
Our Team are stepping up to Walk for Autism to show how much we all care about autism.
We will be cheering each other on in our team to walk 10,000 steps every day for 8 days. We are all committed to raising much needed funds to support autistic children and adults in the UK and Ireland and also help to spread autism acceptance and understanding.
