Stepping up for Autism: Brecon Beacons Challenge

Taking Our First Step: A 9-Mile Challenge for a New Beginning

The journey begins! As a team, alongside our friends and family, we’re preparing to take on a 9-mile hike through Waterfall Country in the stunning Brecon Beacons in August 2025—but this isn’t just any trek. This is the first step in launching our new supported living and domiciliary service, designed to empower autistic individuals with the support they need to live independently, confidently, and safely in their own homes.

For some of us, this hike is more than just a physical challenge—it’s an opportunity to push past personal health barriers, embrace the adventure ahead, and prove that determination and teamwork can overcome obstacles. Every step we take represents the journey we hope to create for those who will benefit from our service—a pathway to autonomy, inclusion, and well-being.

Our service is built for autistic individuals who need flexible, compassionate, and tailored support to thrive in their daily lives. Whether it’s help with household tasks, social engagement, managing health needs, or building independence, we are committed to creating safe, empowering environments that respect each person’s unique strengths and challenges.

We are incredibly excited to embark on this challenge, surrounded by the people who support us and share our vision. As we walk together, we are reminded that progress doesn’t happen alone. It’s built through community, resilience, and the desire to make a difference.

Our fundraiser will help provide essential domiciliary and supported living services for autistic individuals, ensuring they have the resources and support needed to live fulfilling, independent lives. Your encouragement and generosity mean the world to us, and together, we can create something truly impactful.

So, as we lace up our boots, take deep breaths, and set off on this journey, we walk not just for ourselves, but for the future we want to build.

Let’s take this first step—together!

Join us as we trek over 9 miles through the breathtaking Waterfall Country in the Brecon Beacons, raising funds to support autistic individuals in Wales through domiciliary and supported living services.

Autism Spectrum Connections Cymru is part of the Autism Initiatives Group and provides specialist one-to-one support, helping autistic adults gain independence, build confidence, and access essential services. Our supported living program ensure individuals can thrive in their own homes, with tailored support in daily living, employment, benefits and social inclusion - with Supported Living Services and One Stop Shop working together.

Your donation will help fund community outreach, supported housing, and vital resources that empower autistic individuals to live fulfilling, independent lives.

Every step that we take on this hike is a step towards a more inclusive future. Help us make a difference. Every donation helps. Thank you for your support.
