Harley

From when Harley was around 6 months, I knew he was different. Family and friends kept telling me that he was just lazy and would eventually hit his markers, and that all kids do everything at their own pace but as his mummy I knew that it was something else.

We got Harley’s diagnosis the same time as Covid hit in 2020! Harley was non verbal up so as a family we were hoping that his diagnosis would open up doors so that we could get help from his health visitor and the NHS. Unfortunately lockdown hit and we were left on our own, so we went on to Autism UK for help on how we could help our son. 

I sat cutting out flash cards and games to help him with his speech and language, for his understanding and fine motor skills, and we sat for 10mins 3 times a day helping Harley and it worked..fast forward a few years and Harley is in P2 his speech (even though he talks with an English accent lol) is there his understanding is getting better, he’s now interacting with children writing his name and this is all down to the support from different charities like Autism UK!!
