Teddy’s story.

Teddy was only three years old when it was suggested that he may have Autism. I knew he was behind verbally, but honestly, autism has never crossed my mind.
Teddy was diagnosed in 2022, as having autism, social communication disorder, sensory processing disorder, sleep problems, PICA and a mental age of between 10 months to three years.
It took a very long time to get Teddy into a special needs school, but since, he has thrived, he can say some words now and although it is still very limited, his progress is incredible! Teddy has made friends and is building his confidence to try things that are scary.
He finds crowds overwhelming and we are currently fighting to get him SEND transport for travelling to and from school.

Teddy’s special interest is skeletons and can recite the ‘Dem bones’ song. He has a vast collection of skeletons which are all named “Bob”.

Teddy has a wonderful ability to make anyone absolutely adore him, which is so heartwarming to see as it also encourages autism acceptance and understanding within our community.

Teddy is the reason for me taking on this challenge 💙

I'm walking for......my son Teddy and all with autism.
