Mother day
Today was an amazing day, the best mothers day with out any tears. The first time for 5 years my daughter has been out in a cafe with myself and my mum. She coped amazingly for an hour before declaring she wanted to go home. A true mother's day gift and something that I couldn't of imagined in the last few years to happen again. The fear of walking on egg shells was in the back ground but this is definitely a new chapter. This is the 3rd time in the last month she has been out with me in a restaurant. Her move to a sen school has definitely had a big impact and made things like this possible by supporting her to understand herself and learn to regulate herself. They have also given her opportunities that she never got in mainstream. She was not allowed on trips and in a room with a ta for two years. This is to the future and the positives.❤️
"Mummy if I sell my bike I want to buy a square on the bear game to support other people like me with Autism, I don't want the money" 🥰🥰🥰🥰 so proud of her!!!The environment is key
My daughter has transferred to a sen school last year and the change in her is amazing. The key is the environment and the right people. She was stuck in a room for two years with her TA. Now she is in a new school accessing all the things she has a right to. Last week we went out for a meal for the first time in years. Don't ever stop fighting, don't let people shut away our kids. Find the right environment and fight for it.I'm walking for......
I’m raising funds for autism!
I’m taking part in the Walk for Autism challenge for the third year. I’ll be walking 20,000 steps a day from 26 March to 2 April. Please help me raise awareness of Autism, in particular PDA. Walk for Autism is a fundraising challenge run by Autism Initiatives Group.Autism Initiatives Group is working towards a world where every autistic person has the support they need to thrive, every opportunity to fulfil their potential and a supportive, inclusive community to live in.
This is so important to me, especially making sure all parent are herd and supported, and the child/young person is given the same chance to thrive at life as others.
Every pennie and share helps raise awareness.
