I'm walking for... Lilly-May

I’m raising funds for autism! Please sponsor me today! I’m taking part in the Walk for Autism challenge. I’ll be walking 8,000 steps a day from 26 March to 2 April. Please sponsor me. Anything helps . Walk for Autism is a fundraising challenge run by Autism Initiatives Group. Autism Initiatives Group is working towards a world where every person on the autism spectrum has the support they need to thrive, every opportunity to fulfil their potential and a supportive, inclusive community to live in.

My daughter Lilly-May is autistic, currently undiagnosed and on the waiting list to be seen. She has so many daily struggles that are hard to compare to normal daily struggles. She can't interact or communicate propelry which results in her finding it hard to make friends, she is behind her peers in a lot of aspects. Lilly will line her toys up and put things in certain places, she is sensitive to certain light and noises. She is set on routine and any slight change to her daily routine can be very difficult for her to adapt too. She is currently in a mainstream school that works so hard to accomodate to her needs, she loves it there.

Lilly loves anything to do with being outside, numbers and nursery rhymes. She loves playing with toy figures and is a big Disney fan. She doesn't like going to new places that involve a lot of noise or people, anywhere busy is a no go for Lilly so you can imagine it can be hard to get her interested in going places other kids love to go.

Lilly has fantastic support around her, she has a family who is so loving and patient towards her. Teachers who take extra time to care for her and we appreciate every single one of you.

My Lilly along with every other autistic person deserves every right to a normal life and education.

This is a chance to help an amazing cause which will help thousands of people. Any donation will be appreciated. Lets also all take this time to talk about autism and educate each other on our experiences with it or stuff we have learnt about it.

Thankyou x
