I’m walking for Stanley Lilley 💙
This is my 3rd year walking for this incredible cause. Stanley (who is now 5) was diagnosed with Autism at around 20 months old.Looking back over 3 years ago, it feels like a different life. We were scared, confused, angry and at times, holding on by a thread.
With Stanley, it was like a switch turned on at 15 months old and he had a huge developmental regression. Stanley lost all his words, couldn’t walk anymore, forgot how to chew his food and was sleeping like a new born baby. Stanley wasn’t responsive to any sort of comfort and refused to be held or cuddled… it was a living nightmare.
Fast forward 3 and a half years and whilst we’ve had many many hurdles, battles and some seriously low moments, our beautiful little boy is at a school setting that not only meet his needs but they also adore him. Whilst he’s still non verbal, his physical communication has really developed. We still have many hurdles ahead of us… but I can whole heartedly say… our boy is happy and so are we.
We are in a different place this year as a family, but we wouldn’t be here without the support we’ve had.
This year, this walk is even more important as I want to raise money to help families that were just like us, 3 years ago.
Bet of Luck from the Mehmets 😘
