My grandson was diagnosed as a non verbal autistic in July 2024, he was also diagnosed with Pica and other underlying neurodivergent tendencies which could not be properly diagnosed at his young age, he is a joy to be around he picks certain things up very quickly and is extremely physically active and extremely fast really have to have your wits about you☺️he loves nursery and is starting school in September☺️he is still awaiting his EHCP to be out in place as he needs a one to one, he has no concept of danger and will climb anything along with escaping from wherever he is given any opportunity. He has taught us all so much as a family, one person who absolutely loved Raiden and researched as much as he could regarding Raiden’s diagnosis was my dad, unfortunately my dad became poorly with kidney cancer in December and passed away in February but he was one proud great grandpa😍I took up running several years ago and have completed a half marathon but over the last few years have become very hit and miss with it(thanks to the peri menopause)🫣and then when dad became poorly I stopped completely but recently I have started to run again and felt I needed a bit more of a push and a challenge so what better way to spur me on the raising money for this fantastic cause whilst pushing and improving my running again☺️sorry for the long essay but felt it important to give as much background as possible😂

Run for Autism is a fundraising challenge run by Autism Initiatives Group. Autism Initiatives Group is working towards a world where every autistic person has the support they need to thrive, every opportunity to fulfil their potential and a supportive, inclusive community to live in.

I'll be running 20km in October to raise money for this fantastic charity!
