As you probably all know by know I am autistic. I’m also tall, bossy and massively outspoken but these are all things that make me, me. Being autistic brings lots of different challenges in day to day life. Whether it be my clothes not feeling right but having to wear them, lights being too bright but having to see them or being overwhelmed with the unknowning day ahead but having to face it anyway. People was autism have always been seen differently - and rightly so, we are different, I am not the same as anyone else with autism. Like finger prints, we are all different, no two autistic people are the same.

However autistic people lack support in every aspect of life, work, school and at home this is something all autistic people face. We need to spread awareness to change this. To change understanding about autism and to accept them.

I myself have found work places to be uneducated and unsupportive even in the places that I thought would be incredible with an autistic member of staff.

Being autistic of course comes with vulnerability.

-Estimated 1 in 100 children worldwide have autism.

-girls are harder to diagnose and often missed completely.

-just 21% of autistic adults are in paid employment.

-children with autism are 3x more likely to experience bullying, sexual abuse or physical violence.

-children with autism are 4x more likely to end up in the foster care system.

I know a lot of autistic children who are just the most wonderful, they are the future, they are the ones who will save lives, invent and create some incredible things. I’ve had the pleasure of working with some beautiful children, and my little Henry, who’s mummy died in august, my auntie sally, she did a lot for children with autism too and being a mummy to Henry was her life.

Not all people are autistic, you can’t be a little bit autistic, not everyone is on the spectrum. Please help spread the awareness, the help and the kindness
