I'm so excited to be doing this.I'm walking for my Daughter who is Autistic and non verbal.
Walk for Autism is a fundraising challenge run by Autism Initiatives Group. Autism Initiatives Group is working towards a world where every autistic person has the support they need to thrive, every opportunity to fulfil their potential and a supportive, inclusive community to live in.
Our Daughter who was diagnosed last year after waiting under 2 years for a diagnosis. She is a real inspiration to us. It all started when she had her MMR jab. Before that she was saying mum mum dad dad she was making eye contact smiling usual stuff. But once she had her jabs it all changed. But when it changed Covid 19 was about as to which we didnt see the health visitor much. So I contacted her and arranged a visit as we knew she wasn't doing what she was doing before. So she referred us to a paediatrician which we saw. Who said she could see traits of ASD. Then waited under 2 years for our daughter to be diagnosed. While waiting for the diagnosis appointment I put myself forward to do the understanding autism level 2 course. So we could understand autism better and be able to understand our daughters needs. We finally got the diagnosis last year. And it has helped so much. Everything she does is a milestone. Our daughter is such a character and we wouldn't have her any other way. The progression at school and home is amazing. So i thought i would do this for her. <3>
I'll be walking a total of 10,000 steps a day 26th March and 2nd April to raise money for this charity.
