I'm walking for Rayan
I’ve decided to take on this challenge for Walk for Autism as it’s something that means a great deal to me and my wife. Our 5 year old Rayan has been diagnosed with ASD. Whilst there can be challenging moments for a child with Autism. The positives outweigh any negatives. Our son Rayan is the most gentle, affectionate and happiest boy you’ll ever meet and has a smile that can melt hearts. Unfortunately I feel as though many people are not informed as to what Autism is and may find that he is a ‘difficult’ or ‘naughty’ child, we have had an instance or two with random people being upfront rude to him cause they felt he was ‘not listening’ or ‘invasive’
We are of a Nepalese background and I feel within our community it’s not discussed enough or known about and therefore judgment passed so easily.
Rayan is amazing, he loves swimming, puzzles, colours, the world map and flags, cars, keyboard, numbers and cuddles. His favourite book is The Hungry Caterpillar. He’s my best friend.
I’m doing this walk so more people are informed and would love more support and raising awareness for all communities.
I'll be walking a total of 10,000 steps a day 26th March and 2nd April to raise money for this charity.
