🩵 02/04 - WORLD AUTISM ACCEPTANCE DAY 🩵

A perfect time to raise funds for an amazing and worthwhile cause!!!

💚 I WOULD WALK A MILLION MILES A DAY AND MORE FOR A HAPPIER FLAPPIER WORLD 💚 #JUSTKEEPSTIMMING

Me and my non-verbal son have faced many challenges over the 11 wonderful years he has spent on this earth. Filled with so much love and adored by any person he may meet. The lack of support and understanding was apparent from day one. From not being heard and excessively long waiting lists to then being told 'criteria' has not been met. From issues at home to issues at school, eventually being lost in a minefield of paperwork. The fight for the correct placement in education that takes far much longer than they deserve. The battle and struggle for those who are unable to fight it themselves is unmatched. Through years of SEN support work after realising I was the perfect person to become an advocate for so many, this is a continued and repeated pattern that I see which affects so much of their very well being.

At what stage do autistic stop becoming people? Why do they become a ref number on a mountain high sized file? Efforts to be heard and understood with no avail because a human has been transformed into paper??

I would walk a million miles a day and more just for one step towards a future where the world changes for those around them. Where autistic people are seen and heard in the way they need to be. Accepted as they are and not as a label. Where there isn't a battle for support and where education is given in the way their amazing brains deserve. So much incredible intelligence lost in a rigid curriculum that no longer works. A system that fails almost every single autistic person I have ever met and continue to meet. From the diagnosed to the undiagnosed.

PLEASE WITH THE MINIMUM REQUIRED SMALL TARGET OF £125 AND SO MANY I KNOW IN SOME WAY OR OTHER PERSONALLY IN TOUCH WITH THIS SUBJECT I AM CERTAIN WE CAN REACH THE GOAL!!
