Walking for Teddy: A Journey of Love and Support

As March approaches, so does the anticipation of embarking on a meaningful journey – the Walk For Autism fundraiser. This annual event, spanning from the 26th of March to the 2nd of April, calls upon participants to take 10,000 steps each day to raise funds and awareness for autism. However as like last year I have decided to do this for the whole month of March through to Autism Acceptance Day on April 2nd aiming to reach 330000 steps.  This year, I lace up my shoes not just for the cause, but for my son, Teddy, who inspires me every step of the way.

Teddy, my beloved son, is autistic. His journey through life has been filled with unique challenges and triumphs, each step a testament to his resilience and spirit. As a parent, I've witnessed firsthand the beauty and complexity of autism – the moments of boundless joy, the struggles, and the unwavering love that binds us together.

Participating in Walk For Autism is more than just a fundraiser; it's a tangible way to show support for Teddy and the millions of individuals around the world who navigate life on the autism spectrum. Every step taken is a step towards acceptance, inclusion, and understanding.

The funds raised through Walk For Autism go to support organizations like Autism Initiatives Group, whose dedication to providing resources, services, and advocacy for individuals with autism is invaluable. From therapy programs to educational initiatives, these funds make a tangible difference in the lives of families like mine.

Walking for Teddy is a labor of love – a daily commitment to honoring his journey and amplifying his voice. It's a chance to celebrate his unique perspective, talents, and the infinite possibilities that lie ahead. Together, we stride forward, embracing each step as a symbol of hope, unity, and acceptance.

As I prepare to embark on this month-long journey, I am filled with gratitude for the opportunity to be part of something bigger than myself. With each step, I carry Teddy in my heart, knowing that our collective efforts are making a difference – one step at a time.

Join me on this journey as we walk for Teddy, for every individual on the autism spectrum, and for a future where acceptance knows no bounds. Together, we can make strides towards a more inclusive and compassionate world.

Walk on, warriors. Walk on for autism.
