Copper mines walk

Day - 3

A mixed walk day today! I started with Jackson and Bleddyn walking to town for a bit of shopping. After dinner we had an interesting walk around the Coniston museum and saw Bluebird which has been returned to Coniston. We finished off our walking up Coniston Copper Mines Valley. Weather was wet to start, dry most of the day, then finished up wet. Well done Jackson who has accompanied me on all the walking so far!

Day 2 - 27th March

Took Lyra for a run on Bardsea beach with Jo, Lesley, Jackson Bleddyn and of course Lyra the 3 year old welsh collie. We saw 2 little egrets, oyster catchers, pochard, mallard, various gulls and crows.
After lunch Jackson, Bleddyn, Lyra and myself went walking to deliver Easter cards to friends around Croftlands.

Day 1 - 26thMarch

Walked from Booths supermarket down the canal and back, stopping to watch a Whooper swan at canal foot. Ian then took the car and shopping home while Jackson, Bleddyn and myself continued the walk. We went along the bottom of Hoad hill, past the hospice, parish church, health centre and factory shop before returning to Swarthmoor.
