My Walk for Autism Challenge

Total 91,813 steps

My goal 80000 steps

Day 7 - 1st April

I did a local run early this morning, a bit nippy but lovely and sunny. Finished off my steps at Lancaster this afternoon. I won’t be travelling any distance tonight but I will be doing a lot more steps while clog dancing!

Day 6 - 31st March

A mix of gardening and walking on a lovely sunny day. The wood anemones in Swarthmoor Hall wood were lovely and I saw one or two bluebells just opening. Walking back a huge transporter plane went over head really low, pity I couldn’t get a photo in time. To finish the walk off was the beautiful sound of a curlew some where over the fields.

Day5- 30th March

Up early for church this morning after clocks moved on last night and walked there in the sunshine but very windy. Continued my walking around Pennington Parish delivering community magazines with Ian. Had a hug from an ex brownie that I hadn’t seen in years which was lovely. The celandines are beautiful at the moment, in the hedge rows, woodland and lawns.

Day4 - 29th March

Enjoyed the Fell Foot Park Run summer course this morning, a lovely place to do 7,000+ steps and a PB too 😀.
While out in the rain this afternoon, doing a walk to boost my steps to 10,000, I couldn’t help wishing I had done an extra lap of the Park Run course while the weather was fine😂.

Day 3- 28th March

Walked to meet Mervyn and Bryn at Springfield Road before continuing to the Priory for a lovely walk along the beach and through the woods, followed by coffee and cookies (thanks Mervyn!). The walk home and a short walk in the afternoon made up my steps!

Day 2- 27th March

Walked to and from the parish church this morning via the footpath and back lanes. Saw a charm of goldfinches coming up Ruffus Lane. This afternoon I was accompanied by Ian and we walked over the fields to Green Moor farm and across to St. Michael’s church, along Seg Lane and back home. The wind has picked up a lot this afternoon. The daffodils in the church yard are lovely.

Day 1- 26th March

Walked from Low Furness School, Great Urswick (after Open the Book), up to Trig point on Birkrigg, along footpaths to Park Road on Croftlands then on to home through Swarthmoor. Watched a pair of stonechats on the wall as I left Birkrigg.

Walk for Autism is a fundraising challenge run by Autism Initiatives Group. Autism Initiatives Group is working towards a world where every autistic person has the support they need to thrive, every opportunity to fulfil their potential and a supportive, inclusive community to live in.

I'll be walking a total of 10,000 steps a day 26th March and 2nd April to raise money for this charity.

Any donation big or small is greatly appreciated 😊
