I am a proud autism aunt to a beautiful 12 year old girl.

We noticed from a very young age there’s was something different about my little neice. she wasn’t hitting developmental milestones when we first raised it it was she was too young the second time it was that she must be a little slow then eventually when the health visitor came for her 2yr check she could only say five words the health visitor tried interacting with our daughter but she wasn’t interest wouldn’t play or engaged with the health visitor no eye contact my husband got up to leave to go somewhere and my neice became extremely dysregulated & turned into a full blown meltdown the health visitor was shocked she asked why she responded this way and I said simply because her daddy has left the house this continued for around 30 mins I tried everything you could think of by then end of the appointment & a conversation she finally agree that she needed referring to the paediatrician & also audiology from there our autism officially began our daughter received a diagnosis when she was 3 in the November of 2016 3months before her 4th birthday receiving her diagnosis was such a relief for us to know that there really was something more then what everyone else had labeled her as the NAUGHTY CHILD .
Autism isn’t a journey that we chose but we do love our tour guide she is the most amazing funny bubbly girl you could ever meet she makes us proud every single day she has come on so far since been that tiny little dot when we first began out journey there has been lots of highs & lows along the way .
