My Walk for Autism Challenge

Why
I didn’t know anything about autism before I started my job as a support worker 8 years ago. After working hard to become a hairdresser it didn’t work out for me, too many hours on my feet with little benefits. I went on to working in kitchens, retail and bars, working in care was a massive step I never thought I could do. Little did I know I was built for it. My job now is currently the longest standing job I’ve had. During my time working as a support worker I noticed things about my daughter that were very much like the traits of some of the service users I work with, turned out my daughter was autistic which honestly explained a lot! I am walking because autism awareness needs to be a thing. When speaking about autism so many people see bad behaved children or adults when in reality that’s far from the case. There needs to be more inclusivity because where there is disability there is absolutely so much ability!I'm walking for...... My daughter and my residents
Walk for Autism is a fundraising challenge run by Autism Initiatives Group. Autism Initiatives Group is working towards a world where every autistic person has the support they need to thrive, every opportunity to fulfil their potential and a supportive, inclusive community to live in.
I'll be walking a total of 10,000 steps a day 26th March and 2nd April to raise money for this charity.
Any donation big or small is greatly appreciated 😊
