I am walking for my daughter Scarlett…

'm walking for......my daughter Scarlett      Hi my name is Erin little and I am a mother of five four daughters and one son. One of my daughters Scarlett she is 10 got diagnosed with autism and ADHD when she was 7. Was a massive adjustment for our family pre and post diagnosis. Scarlett has always had problems coping with clothes, socially, emotionally, physically and everyday things kid do. Just even playing in park is hard. What to wear , who is there, is everyone ok, But football has been her safe place. She plays for two teams at present westerhope and west end. She is doing so well and has just been excepted on to the ETC for girls at Newcastle united. I want to shout it from the rooftops. Not only for her but for girl's football and disabilities in football. She is incredible how she manages all them feelings that on so many days prevent her from doing the fun things. But football she glides across the pitch. Here are some quotes from her coach's.

So proud of Scarlett. It's an amazing achievement. Bet you're so proud too. She deserves to be there. She glides with the ball....reminds me if Thierry Henry.  Are you ok for me to put something in the group?  She was different level Erin. Still dribbling but passing at right moments.  2 assists in semis and hat trick in final man haha.

Should be proud  It’s noticeable with the girls she’s happy as Larry smiling with them and mixing with kinda all of them which has come on loads over the last few months.  Yeah was gonna say something like it’s a daily struggle with Scarlett and having to live with adhd/autism but the fact she’s part of our team helps her massively seeing her teammates and having a football at her feet gives her the boost she needs.  Don’t want to go into too much or make Scarlett feel awkward though.

Hey Tell Scarlett the way she played in the kick about tonight will give the team loads of goals next season some of her passes into the box was great to watch.  Honestly it’s working with her adding this to her game she’s gonna be the best player in the league easily by miles if she continues the way she has last few weeks.  Also she was great with the new girls. She’s definitely settled in with our lot and mixes with all of them full of smiles that’s all it’s about at the end of the day.  She is so endearing and doesn't see what an amazing achievement it is. For girls and girls like her!

When she started playing for westend last year in her first season. she was top goal scorer. 19 goals in 6 games and got outstanding player. She also plays for Newcastle schools district team. In which they have reached the semi finals of the national cup. I can’t put across how much pride I see in my daughters face when that ball is at her feet. But as most things it doesn’t always help and she has had her struggles. But as for not having football I can’t imagine what would replace it. To keep days when she can’t even cope with daily challenges a happy place. Please please walk for kids people my daughter Scarlett to bring awareness of autism.
